This is the deluxe edition of Kendrick Lamar’s sophomore album, good kid, m.A.A.d city.
This edition contains three bonus tracks, being the album’s lead single, “The Recipe,” “Black Boy Fly,” and “Now Or Never.”
Additionally, the cover art changes to an image of the minivan Kendrick drives around Compton throughout the album’s narrative.
Lamar explained to Complex in October 2012:
’m.A.A.d city' has two meanings; My Angel on Angel Dust and My Angry Adolescence Divided. If you listen to the album [you’ll find out] the reason why I don’t smoke weed. Because once upon a time, you’d find stuff laced with cocaine [and angel dust]. That caused a reaction and I put that inside the song. That really happened to me. That’s the reason for the title.
