Kanye West has finally released Vultures 1, the long-delayed first installment of his three-volume joint album with Ty Dolla $ign. It’s also Ye’s first proper full-length since the 2022 antisemitic meltdown that effectively halted his career. Vultures 1 was released under Ye’s own Yzy brand, as his contract with Def Jam expired in 2021.
Guests on the 16-track project include Freddie Gibbs, Playboi Carti, Lil Durk, Travis Scott, and Chris Brown.
In true Kanye fashion, the rollout surrounding Vultures has been extremely chaotic. Back in December, Ye and Ty previewed songs from the LP at Wynwood Marketplace in Miami, with guests like Chris Brown, Kodak Black, Lil Durk, Offset, and West’s daughter North taking the stage. At one point in the set, Kanye donned “a black Klansman hat,” according to Variety, no doubt referencing the events of the past year.
