Logic Says Drake and Tupac Have A Lot In Common

DEK TK

Hip-hop’s generational divide can lead to some pretty strange behavior and Logic is sick of it.

On “City of Stars,” a track off his latest The Incredible True Story album, the Gaithersburg, Maryland MC sings and raps about his frustrations with the negative energy that sometimes exists amongst hip-hop fans.

With four lines, Logic uses the fandom that swirls around both Drake and Tupac to illustrate his point.

I love hip-hop and I hate hip-hop

’Cause people that love ‘Pac hope that Drake gets shot

’Cause he raps about money and bitches, for heaven’s sake

’Pac did the same shit, just on a drum break.

It’s an extreme and passionately poetic claim; and while we certain hope no one ever does any harm to Drake, the lyric says a lot about how fans tend to romanticize veteran rappers.
