Blake Shelton grew up as the baby of his family in Oklahoma’s rural town of Ada. He travelled east at the age of 17, moving to Nashville to pursue a passion for country music. By 2001, he’d signed to a label, and soon released his first hit, “ Austin,” which shot to Number 1 atop Billboard’s Country Chart for five weeks.
More than a decade later, Shelton’s one of Country’s biggest stars. Moreover, he’s become something of a digital cowboy, blazing trails out of Nashville on media frontiers like The Voice, all while staying true to his roots. To date, Blake’s charted 20 number #1’s, which he recently anthologized on his new album _ Reloaded: 20 Number 1 Hits_.
Today Blake Shelton’s gone digital again, adding fresh Genius annotations on ten of his classic number 1 hits.
All of Blake’s annotations capture his trademark charisma and humor. Among other memories, he recalls his first truck, the “ Monster Mash” theme song, his love for car racing, and the time he was sure Gwen Sebastian hated him.
