Taylor C. McLendon (born 1995), better known by her stage name Ivy Sole, is a singer-songwriter and indie rapper from Charlotte, NC and based in Philadelphia, PA.
Ivy’s sound draws on a diverse set of influences from southern rap, to gospel, to soul, to spoken-word, to boom-bap. She writes lyrics that openly address her journey with spirituality, sexuality, and mental health.
Her stage name is inspired by a real life event: when she was six, she fell in a bush of poison ivy and the name has stuck with her long after the rashes have faded. “It’s a merge between a nickname I had as a child, and just feeling like I was a complete individual,” she says.
