About Dom O Briggs

Baltimore born, Brooklyn bred artist Dom O Briggs (born May 24th, 1991) is known for his lyrical wit & undeniable love for life. Raised in Brooklyn’s East New York neighborhood, Dom O found his love for music in church. His mother and aunt sang in the Grammy Award-winning Love Fellowship Tabernacle Choir, led by Bishop Hezekiah Walker. Since the age of 8, he has been on the road and in the studio with his mom. In the 2nd Grade, he found himself writing poems then, selling them to friends as rap lyrics. The support from his friends helped him decide to dedicate his life to writing & creating.

A decision by a close friend put Dom O in a position to grow and began a new journey. In the spring of 2008, he joined “Urban Word NYC”, a non profit organization that aids in the development of youth voice and activism. Honing his writing ability, he went on to compete and perform in various poetry slams, universities and venues around the country. He was apart of MSG Network’s Emmy Award Winning “Knicks Poetry Slam” docu-series in 2009 & 2010. In 2010, the untimely death of his father influenced his decision to dedicate his life to music.

Dom O’s first project, “TheMixtape Mixtape” was released in 2010. His follow-up projects “Always Inspire(d)” (2012), “Gr8Summer” (2012) & “Mr. Briggs” (2013), garnered attention from well respected media outlets. (Genius, XXL, Mass Appeal, Adult Swim , etc) In the summer of 2012, Dom was #1 in the “Top Dawg Entertainment Feature Verse Competition”.

Most recently, Dom O founded his own label, “Squadly Records”. He released “LITrell Sprewell” in October 2017. The song was added to Spotify’s “Alternative Hip Hop” playlist and has 40,000+ plays. He’s also been featured on tracks with Kris Kasanova, Crystal Caines, Qu'ality, Racks Hogan, etc. Dom O has shared the stage with the likes of DRAM, Ari Lenox, Curren$y, Action Bronson, G4SHI, Manolo Rose, and more.
